"The Diocese of Chelmsford is committed, as part of the Christian Church living in the spirit of the Gospel, to protect and care for everyone and we aim to be a beacon of best practice in safeguarding."
The Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Education takes safeguarding very seriously and is committed to the safeguarding of all children in schools and parishes, recognising that the welfare of the child is paramount.
If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires immediate medical attention, call the emergency services on 999.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, so whilst the Local Authorities remain the statutory body responsible for safeguarding, alongside multi-academy trusts and school governing boards, the Board of Education will provide support if required. In the first instance you should follow the school's safeguarding policy. However please do contact the Adviser Team if you require any help or advice. All School Advisers receive regular Child Protection and Safer Recruitment training.
Safeguarding concerns or questions in relation to the Church community should be referred to the Diocesan Safeguarding Team. Further information is available here.
