SIAMS inspections are carried out in line with the 2023 Framework and in line with national policies. The current framework (September 2023) guides all SIAMS judgements. Leaders should understand the school’s vision, its theological basis, and its impact. Please see below for more information.
SIAMS looks at how a school’s Christian vision shapes daily life and enables pupils and adults to flourish. Inspection explores:
During SIAMS inspections, schools will hear shared language such as:
This language helps schools clearly explain their practice and intent.
In effective Church schools:
Good practice is always understood within each school’s context.
During a SIAMS inspection, inspectors will explore how your school’s Christian vision is clearly articulated, lived out and makes a positive difference to pupils and adults. They will look at how this vision shapes decision‑making, curriculum design and relationships, and how it supports pupils to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Inspectors will consider the impact of collective worship, the effectiveness of religious education, and how leaders support strong, reflective practice. Conversations will focus on impact rather than paperwork, and inspectors will want to hear the authentic story of your school.
